About the IRC
The International Rescue Committee (irc) responds to the world’s worst humanitarian crises and helps people whose lives and livelihoods are shattered by conflict and disaster to survive, recover and gain control of their future. In more than 40 countries and in 26 U.S. cities, their dedicated teams provide clean water, shelter, health care, education and empowerment support to refugees and displaced people.
This event will raise funds for irc’s local mission, expected this year to include over 200 new refugees. Donations to irc will be applied to their local mission. irc is a key partner in our corporate mission; Charlottesville Dress Company’s mission is to create local jobs for recent immigrants.
Charlottesville Dress Co.
Charlottesville Dress Company features fashions made by hand in Charlottesville for women who care about the fabric they put on their skin, quality that lasts, building community, and effortless beauty.
During The Fashion Show, they will be joined by several other local designers who are manufacturing locally garments and shoes, including: Rosalba Couture, Sorbella Couture, Sealed with a Kiss, Ayvazyan & de Beauvoir, and Oesh Shoes. Altogether, the event will feature over 50 new clothing and shoe designs.
This event is the perfect end to The Forum! All ticket proceeds benefit the IRC in Charlottesville. Light refreshments will be served.
